Good morning everyone!
Things are going good. Last night Angie and I met over at Jen’s place for a little BBQ and Rutledge fundraiser brainstorming! It was very stimulating and productive. Angie scored an awesome 20 minute video from the Peace Corps Partnership that explains better than anything we could come up with on how our grant money will be spent overseas. We’re going to play it at the Nov. 7th fundraiser and we should also look into getting it on our website too. So far, we have our very own Tony Garcia playing. I haven’t heard back from my two contacts yet, so if any of you have some friends out there that can play, go ahead and ask them and let us know. We have the entire Sat. night to fill so we need at least two more bands.
The other note is that the 2010 calendars are in. They’re $10 like last year and if you chose to support TNRPCV with a $25 annual membership, you get a calendar for free.
Lastly, we are meeting tomorrow night to discuss all of these things that I have mentioned here plus more importantly approve the appropriation of $500 to the Peace Corps Partnership so we are ready to award the grant later this fall to a current Tennessee Peace Corps Volunteer! (If you’re currently serving and just read this, get your project on the Peace Corps Partnership lists so we can review it.)
See you tomorrow. We usually start wandering in around 5:30 to 6 and will start right at 6. The East Park Community Center is in East Nashville off of Woodland and 6th Ave. If you’re new to the meeting and get lost, just call me on my cell. 615.668.3728.
