Kellie served as a TEFL Teacher Trainer in the coastal region of Colombia from 2017-2020, 2 years in the department of Atlántico and 1 year in Sucre. As a PCV, Kellie co-taught primary and secondary English classes with her Colombian counterparts in the local schools and in the community. She co-led a GLOW girls youth empowerment club and served on the Roadshow Curriculum Board to write and compile teacher training materials for future PCVs. In her last year in Colombia, she was a PCV Leader supporting current PCVs and incoming trainees in their transitions to service in Colombia. She enjoyed spending time with her host family, playing volleyball, and immersing herself in Colombian culture through food and dance.
Kellie returned to Nashville in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Upon her return, she jumped back into teaching but eventually transitioned to work in higher education at Vanderbilt University. She now works in the International Student and Scholar Services Office as an ISSS Advisor supporting students who transition to the US to study on F and J visas.
