Ukraine, 2016–2018

Katie served as a secondary education English teacher from 2016-2018 in the southwest region of Ukraine, in the city of Vynohradiv. She enjoyed spending time in her community and shopping at the local bazaar where she could practice her language skills with her favorite vendor, Magda.

Katie returned to Nashville in 2021 with her husband and cat, Mr. Beans, after living off and on in the city since 2008. In 2020, she completed a M.A. in Cross-cultural and International Education from Bowling Green State University as part of the Paul D. Coverdell Peace Corps Fellows Program and currently works in International Student Services and Study Abroad at a local university.
