Mary Ackley served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Fiji Islands ('03-'05). She currently works at Amazon, leading sustainability and decarbonization of the global supply chain. She has over 20 years of professional experience in the fields of engineering, international development, natural resources management, agriculture, energy, and conflict mitigation. Mary is an adventurer at heart and spent a decade in the Foreign Service with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), living and traveling all over the world including assignments in Sri Lanka, Maldives, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Ghana, and Washington, D.C.

She holds a B.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Natural Resources Management from the University of Vermont. In 2019, she left the Foreign Service to pursue her dream of starting a sustainable agriculture business, Little Wild Things Farm, which grew to become Washington D.C.'s largest commercial urban farm, producing specialty salad greens, microgreens, and edible flowers. In her spare time she enjoys strength training, cycling, growing food and flowers, sewing, playing music, and hiking with her rescue dog, Fennel. She recently moved to Nashville and is excited to explore the area!
